In 1947 after his illustrious career as a pilot was cut short in a flying accident, Osalco Montalban \u2013 a man of noble origins \u2013 established the first Visottica workshop in the family home in Conegliano. Visottica expands its production capacity in the new plant in Susegana: today is still the Italian headquarters of the company. In the 1980\u2019s, the pioneering French company Comotec, which specialised in eyewear component distribution, began to enter Asian markets. In 1985 Comotec Far East was founded in Hong Kong, at the same time setting up its own production units there, at first as a rival company, and later joining forces with Visottica as its strategic partner. In 1993, the fast-growing demand in Asian markets soon led Visottica to open its own sales division, Ottica Far Est, in Hong Kong. In 2017 Visottica Comotec opened the new factory in Dongguan, transferring their manufacturing and administration offices to this district.
